About

The Walsall Roads Cycling Club was established in 1919 and is based in Aldridge, near Walsall. We have approximately 60 members and we welcome new members. A large number of our members ride time trials. Our club promotes two open time trials each year, a series of club time trials held throughout the year, hill climbs and we promote one evening road race.. The Club holds regular social rides. Club President Lynne Taylor (shown above) is the World Record holder for the Ladies' John O' Groats / Lands End ride! and the 1000 mile Record!

As stated above, time trialling is the main activity for the club. There are also a hand full of members who ride road races. There are one or two sportive events which usually attract a fair few members such as the cat and fiddle and the autumn epic. We also organise a yearly holiday to sunny Majorca which is available to all club members.

There are club runs held every Sunday (except on open and club event dates), as most members are active racers, during the racing season the numbers that ride club runs are usually limited (approx 4 to 6) but in the autumn/winter months it's a different matter as there can be up to a dozen riders. We meet each Sunday morning at 9am at the Turf Pub on the A5 (just outside Brownhills). These rides are about 60 miles at an average speed of 16mph and include one cafe stop.
